Groovy fun piece, written for Syrene Saxophone Quartet

In 2007 the oldest newspaper in the Netherlands, the ‘Zeeuwse Provinciale Courant’  (PZC) existed 250 years. The newspaper asked for a composition  based on a 250-year old Sonata from Dutch composer Christian Ernst Graf.

Commissioned by the Belgian Origami Ensemble. Two pianos, four pianists who constantly chasing each other.

The Trio is written during my study composition in a somewhat more chromatic style than the later pieces. It consists of a short and playful Scherzo, flanked by two slow atmospheric pieces.
