new single

out now
The new single September is available everywhere from April 19.
It's the first of three singles to be released this summer in the lead-up to the new album Another Month - Another Year which will be released on September 11.
The new album is more or less about the passage of time, about growing older, about memories. More or less, because you could question whether an instrumental album can truly ‘be about’ anything.
artwork

The cover of each single and album contains artwork by Tim van Eenennaam
In his works, light takes center stage — the play of light and shadow, the shifting light throughout the day. He is constantly searching for new ways to create
depth within an often white surface, by building a piece in layers of glass and paper or by folding patterns.
tour

I'll be touring the new album in September & October 25. Please check the agenda for tour dates and venues
confined spaces

“An exploration of confined spaces, that is what this record is. How much can be made of very little? How much music is there in handfuls of notes? How far can creativity go with very limited options? How many possibilities are available in these small spaces? It could make for very claustrophobic, anxious listening, but instead Eisenga finds pathways within the limitations which make Open a record of sadness, melancholy and longing.”
This is what All About Jazz wrote 4 years ago about my album Open. How much can be made of very little? In the new single September, I might be pushing the limit of using the bare minimum of means. The theme starts for about 40 seconds (from 0:20 to 1:00) not with a handful of notes, but with just a single one…..
And than the process of building layers and folding patterns start, much like the artwork of Tim !!
